The House and Senate are both in Session this week.

ON THE FLOOR

On the House floor, the body will consider the “Department of Veterans Affairs Accountability and Whistleblower Protection Act of 2017” (S. 1094) and several healthcare measures including the “Broader Options for Americans Act” (H.R. 2579), the “Verify First Act” (H.R. 2581), and the “Protecting Access to Care Act of 2017” (H.R. 1215).

The Senate will resume consideration of the “Countering Iran’s Destabilizing Activities Act of 2017” (S. 722).

IN COMMITTEE

MONDAY

  • The House Committee on Appropriations Subcommittee on Financial Services and General Government will hold a Budget Hearing on the Department of the Treasury
    Witness: The Honorable Steven Mnuchin Secretary, Department of the Treasury

TUESDAY

  • The Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a markup to consider the nominations of Kevin Allen Hassett, of Massachusetts, to be Chairman of the Council of Economic Advisers, and Pamela Hughes Patenaude, of New Hampshire, to be Deputy Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.
  • The House Committee on the Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution and Civil Justice Meeting: Lawsuit Abuse and the Telephone Consumer Protection Act

WEDNESDAY

The House Financial Services Committee will begin its markup of the following measures:

• H.R. 1422, the “Flood Insurance Market Parity and Modernization Act”

• H.R. 1558, the “Repeatedly Flooded Communities Preparation Act”

• H.R. 2246, the “Taxpayer Exposure Mitigation Act of 2017”

• H.R. 2565, to require the use of replacement cost value in determining the premium for flood insurance coverage under the National Flood Insurance Act, and for other purposes.

• H.R. 2868, the “National Flood Insurance Program Policyholder Protection Act of 2017”

• “National Flood Insurance Program Administrative Reform Act of 201

• The “21st Century Flood Reform Act”

THURSDAY

  • The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a hearing: "Fostering Economic Growth: Midsized, Regional and Large Institution Perspective."
