adopt uniform NMLS MLO test
Effective January 1st, four additional state agencies will no longer
require mortgage loan originators (MLOs) to take a second state-specific test
component when seeking licensure with their state agencies. The agencies are
the Nevada Department of Business and Industry, New Mexico Financial
Institutions Division, Puerto Rico Office of the Commissioner of Financial
Institutions, and U.S. Virgin Islands Division of Banking & Insurance. The test, which was first made available on
April 1, 2013, combines both the national and state testing requirements of the
SAFE Act and streamlines the license application process for mortgage loan
originators (MLOs) seeking licenses in multiple states. For more information click here.
