Being able to think on your feet and respond in the moment is a huge asset when coaching, especially when you have an opportunity to coach your boss or a peer. In this session, you'll have the opportunity to practice improvisational coaching skills in a safe, interactive environment, as well as take tips back to your team to help them become more comfortable on their feet as well.
Once you've identified a coaching opportunity with someone on your team, you'll need to assess where they are in their development. During this interactive discussion, you will have the opportunity to determine the best course of action for coaching toward your staff's success.
Throughout this school you'll have opportunities to connect one-on-one with another attendee to discuss how to best apply what you're learning both at the program and when you get back to your credit union. During this session, you'll meet your partner and lay the foundation for your specific coaching scenario.
This session will focus on putting the building blocks of coaching into a solid plan of action. You'll also begin to fill your toolbox with a variety of coaching methodologies that will add to your success.
The larger the toolbox, the more successful you'll be in your coaching conversations. During this section, we'll provide additional coaching strategies that will help you build a more robust coaching repertoire, in addition to being able to try the tools out on your real-world scenarios.
As your coaching toolbox continues to grow, it's important to take each tool for a trial run to work out the kinks in a safe environment. This session will do just that, providing even more tools and more opportunities to practice and hone your skills.
Once you have a full toolbox, it's time to design an in-depth coaching plan based on everything you've learned. You'll receive a coaching framework that you will customize to your individual situation, which can then be used in any coaching scenario moving forward.
You've got the tools and you've got the plans. During this session, you'll put it to work! You'll also have an opportunity to throw out your toughest coaching situations and watch the solutions play out in front of the group.
While it's exciting to learn new skills during a conference, it's critical to be able to use these skills when you're back at your credit union. We'll wrap up the school by providing you with support strategies to ensure your success long after Chicago is a distant memory.
