Board Member's Biography

Patrick La Pine

Patrick La Pine was appointed the first President and Chief Executive Officer of the League of Southeastern Credit Unions (LSCU) by its Board of Directors in August 2009. The LSCU was formed by the merger of the Alabama and Florida Credit Union Leagues and represents the interests of the states 308 credit unions and their approximately 6.3 million credit union members with offices in Birmingham Alabama and Tallahassee Florida.

Before joining the LSCU, Patrick worked for the Michigan Credit Union League for 11 years rising to the level of Executive Vice President of Association Services. Patrick has a strong governmental affairs background, working previously for both the Michigan Legislature and the United States Senate for former Senate Banking Committee Chair Don Riegle (D-MI).

As LSCU President/CEO, Patrick serves on the Board of Directors of both the Alabama Credit Union Service Centers (CUSC) as well as the Florida Credit Union Shared Services, Inc. (FCUSS). In February 2010 he was elected to the Board of Directors of Credit Union House in Washington, D.C. and in October 2010 was appointed to the national Credit Union for Kids Advisory Board of Directors. In March 2015, Patrick was elected to the CUNA Board of Directors.

Patrick has earned a Bachelor of Science degree in political science from Michigan State University and a master's degree in public administration from the University of Michigan. He resides in Tallahassee, Florida with his wife Kathy and daughter Madison.
