How to earn the CUCE designation

CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School: Introduction

  1. Register for the school
  2. View the certification pre-requisite training sessions (approximately 4 hours) prior to attending the school.  Students will receive pre-requisite training access instructions approximately 30 days prior to the school.
  3. Attend CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School: Introduction.
  4. Successfully pass the five certification exams at the school.

CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification eSchool: Introduction or recorded eSchool: Introduction

  1. Register for Regulatory Compliance Certification eSchool: Introduction or the recorded version
  2. Locate a proctor in your area. For more information on proctor guidelines, click here.
  3. Schedule the five exams within one of the two exam windows. You will find the exam window dates on the eSchool or recorded eSchool registration page.
  4. Submit the Proctored Exam Request form no later than 4 weeks before your first scheduled exam. Remember to check the exam window dates found on the eSchool registration page and plan accordingly. Note, when completing the form, you do NOT need a Comp Code.
  5. Attend CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification eSchool: Introduction sessions and complete session requirements.
  6. Take the five proctored exams.

If multiple people from your credit union will certify for the CUCE Designation, please do the following to ensure each designee receives credit for recertification:

  1. CUNA Training Bundle Subscribers - please register each individual to ensure the school or eschool is added to their transcript.
  2. If you do not have the CUNA Training Bundle, please contact training@cuna.coop for assistance with registering additional participants.

 

Recertification

To maintain the designation, CUCE designees must recertify every three years. Below are the options.

CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School: Update

  1. Register for CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification School: Update
  2. Attend the school*
    • As of January 1, 2020, the recertification exam is no longer a requirement of certification.

CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification eSchool: Update or recorded eSchool: Update

  1. Register for CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification eSchool: Update or the recorded version.
  2. Attend CUNA Regulatory Compliance Certification eSchool: Update sessions.*
    • As of January 1, 2020, the recertification exam is no longer a requirement of certification.
