This session will explore the expanding role of Enterprise Risk Management within successful credit unions. We will address the roles of, and integration with, the Internal Audit function and the Supervisory Committee’s oversight. Emphasis will be placed on integrating risk assessments with audit plans and findings and the distinction between mitigating responses and controls.
Making Risk Appetite Actionable - Monitoring Tolerances and Validating Strategic Decisions

Complacency is the enemy of engagement. This session will address ways to elevate your credit union’s Enterprise Risk Management program to ensure that it doesn’t become a stagnant, rote exercise. Methods for making ERM information more relevant and actionable will be explored. We will also examine the role of the Risk Management Committee (RMCO) and the most appropriate structure, as well as flows of information in the ERM program. Finally, we’ll address ways to ensure the RMCO remains engaged.
