Every credit union must have an identity theft red flags program to help identify and mitigate the risk of identity theft. As frontline staff, you often will be the employee who first detects possible identity theft. In this session, we’ll review the requirements for the ID theft prevention program and the ID theft red flags included in the regulation. We’ll discuss actions to take when ID theft red flags occur and discuss how to report suspected identity theft. We’ll review an identity theft case study to see what could have been done to better protect the identity theft victim.
