CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference (GAC)

February 27 - March 3, 2022

You’re going to GAC. Here’s what you need to know.

This page is your one-stop shop for need-to-know information and announcements as we lead up to the conference.

Washington, D.C., recently implemented mask and vaccine requirements for indoor venues, including hotels, restaurants, Credit Union House and the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. Anyone ages 12 or older must be fully vaccinated by February 15, 2022. Here’s more information about safety at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center. IMPORTANT: Read below for steps you need to take to verify your vaccination status by February 15.

CUNA is actively monitoring and following the COVID-19 recommendations from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We remain in contact with event conference sites and local public health officials about proactive measures that protect you.

Verify your vaccination status

  1. As required by Washington, D.C., you need to verify your vaccination status ahead of attending CUNA GAC.
  2. Start the verification process here.
  3. Verification must be completed by February 15.

1. What safety measures will be put in place?

  • We have been in frequent contact with the staff at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center to discuss their safety protocol. The convention center and its facility maintenance vendor have implemented enhanced cleaning, sanitation, and disinfecting measures in accordance with CDC and World Health Organization (WHO) guidelines. Learn more.

2. Will attendees be required to wear masks inside the convention center?

  • There is an indoor mask requirement in Washington, D.C., regardless of vaccination status, and there is a possibility it may be extended. Attendees will be required to follow any current local and federal guidelines that are in place at the time of CUNA GAC.

3. Are there exemptions to the vaccine requirement?

We are currently awaiting clarification from Washington D.C. health officials regarding exemptions to the vaccine requirement and will provide additional information regarding possible exemptions when they become available to us.
