- CUNA and NAFCU Merger
CUNA and NAFCU are announcing their intent to merge to form a single, powerful entity to serve credit unions more efficiently and effectively, without redundancies. America’s Credit Unions will offer the industry one strong and united voice. As one organization, we will offer the best advocacy, education and compliance training and increase value to our members by providing more effective resources to strengthen and grow credit unions across America. With combined membership and a stronger voice, America’s Credit Unions will increase its influence where it’s needed most.
Jim Nussle, President & CEO of the proposed America’s Credit Unions, describes advocacy as the #1 pillar of the combined new trade association. Watch him lay out his vision for advocacy, answer audience questions and more in this September 2023 discussion with Greg Mesack, NAFCU SVP of Government Affairs.
Transparency and accountability are priorities for us throughout the merger process. We’ve heard members request more visibility into the financial strength of both organizations. Below you’ll see that CUNA’s and NAFCU’s 2022 financial performances are a solid representation of the strong foundation that will support an even stronger organization as America’s Credit Unions.
