CFPB to Host Public event about debt collection in Washington, D.C.
Posted January 10, 2017 by Chandler Schuette

The CFPB is hosting a public event about debt collection in Washington, D.C. on January 12, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. EST. The event will feature remarks from Attorney General Karl Racine and CFPB Director Richard Cordray, as well as comments by members of the public.

CUNA has been closely following CFPB debt collection pre-rule activity, which included a SBREFA panel on third-party debt collection and the concurrent release of an outline of proposals for a rule. CUNA has also closely been following recent CFPB debt collection enforcement actions. The CFPB is also expected to also hold a SBREFA panel for first-party creditors this year.

CUNA plans to monitor the event and it will be available live on the web for others interested in watching.
