CUNA Continues to Push for Bipartisan Amodei/Aguilar Amendment
Posted September 13, 2017 by CUNA Advocacy

Last week, CUNA’s President and CEO issued an Action Alert on the bipartisan amendment introduced by Representatives Amodei and Aguilar to strike Section 906 of H.R. 3354 in order to keep the NCUA out of the appropriations process.

Based on conversations CUNA and the Leagues have been having on the Hill, the recent grassroots advocacy has convinced a significant number of lawmakers to support the bipartisan Amodei-Aguilar amendment.  Currently, the amendment is scheduled to be debated tonight and then voted on tomorrow morning.

Prior to this evening’s debate and tomorrow’s tentative vote, CUNA sent a letter to House Speaker Paul Ryan and Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi urging them to support this important amendment – and keep the NCUA out of the appropriations process.

CUNA has been in close contact with Members on the Hill today and is optimistic about the potential vote tomorrow, but more credit union voices need to be heard!

There is still time to contact your Members of Congress via CUNA’s Grassroots Action Center!
