Congressional Schedule - Week of November 28, 2016
Posted November 27, 2016 by Ryan Donovan

The House of Representatives and the Senate return this week from their Thanksgiving break.  The Senate will consider S.2873, the Expanding Capacity for Health Outcomes (ECHO) Act.  The House is expected to consider H.R. 6392, the Systemic Risk Designation Improvement Act of 2016, and may consider the Conference Report to Accompany S. 2943, National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2017 as well as the Senate amendment to H.R.34, the "Tsunami Warning, Education, and Research Act of 2015."

Both the House and Senate are expected to pass a continuing resolution to fund government operations at the current level until March 31, 2017.  This is needed since the current authorization end December 9.  This new resolution is expected to be passed and signed into law before the December 9th deadline.  This would allow the Congress to adjourn one week earlier than planned.

On Wednesday, the Senate Special Committee on Aging will hold a full committee hearing on "Trust Betrayed: Financial Abuse of Older Americans by Guardians and Others in Power."  This is only hearing of note that will be considered this week.
