MWCUA Brings Forward CU Modernization Legislation in Arizona
Posted January 19, 2016 by CUNA Advocacy

Last week the Mountain West Credit Union Association (MWCUA) brought forth a credit union act modernization bill, H 2381, in Arizona. The bill allows compensation for state-chartered credit union directors, reduces the number of credit union board meetings and permits electronic voting by the board. The measure also removes the five percent asset limit on state-chartered credit unions. Last October, NCUA removed a similar limit on federal credit unions.

A patent infringement bill, H 2386, was also introduced in Arizona. The measure defines the criteria for a bad faith claim of patent infringement and authorizes the Attorney General to bring actions against companies or individuals making bad faith claims.
