TNC Legislation on the Move in Missouri and Rhode Island
Posted June 24, 2016 by CUNA Advocacy

Recently, Missouri Governor Jay Nixon signed a transportation network company (TNC) insurance bill, S 947, that requires TNCs to notify drivers that if their vehicle have a lien, using the vehicle for TNC purposes may violate the terms of their lien agreement. The measure also requires TNC companies to issue payments under their comprehensive and collision coverage directly to the business repairing the vehicle or jointly to the vehicle owner and the lienholder.

The Rhode Island TNC bill, S 2864, was sent to Governor Raimondo for signature. The legislation requires TNCs to disclose to drivers that their personal policies might not provide any coverage while the driver is performing TNC services. The Governor has until July 31 to sign the bill.
