ON THE FLOOR

This week, both the House and Senate are in session.  The House will consider H.R. 6395, the William M. (Mac) Thornberry National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.  In addition, the House will vote on H.R. 7608, the State, Foreign Operations, Agriculture, Rural Development, Interior, Environment, Military Construction, and Veterans Affairs Appropriations Act for Fiscal Year 2021.

The Senate will resume consideration of Russell Vought to be Director of the Office of Management and Budget (OMB).  Also, the Senate will continue its consideration of S. 4049, the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2021.

 

IN COMMITTEE

Tuesday

The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a nominations hearing for the Honorable Hester Peirce, of Ohio, to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission; Mrs. Caroline Crenshaw, of the District of Columbia, to be a Member of the Securities and Exchange Commission; and Mr. Kyle Hauptman, of Maine, to be a Member of the National Credit Union Administration Board.      

The Senate Banking, Housing, and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a markup to consider the nominations of Judy Shelton, of California, to be a Member, and Christopher Waller, of Minnesota, both to be a Member of the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System.

 

Wednesday

The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee Subcommittee On Economic Policy will hold a hearing: "US-China: Winning the Economic Competition."

The Senate Commerce, Science, and Transportation Committee will hold a markup to consider pending calendar business, including the nomination of Michael O’Rielly, of New York, to be a Member of the Federal Communications Commission.

 

Thursday

The Senate Small Business and Entrepreneurship Committee will hold a hearing: "Capital Access for Minority Small Businesses: COVID-19 Resources for an Equitable and Sustainable Recovery."

The House Committee on Financial Services will hold a hearing: “The Heroes Act: Providing for a Strong Economic Recovery from COVID-19.”
