The Week Ahead in Washington - October 14, 2019

This week, the House of Representatives will consider H.R. 1815, the SEC Disclosure Effectiveness Testing Act and H.R. 3624, the Outsourcing Accountability Act of 2019. 

The Senate will consider the nomination of Barbara Barrett to be Secretary of the Air Force. 



The House Committee on Financial Services will hold a hearing: “Who Is Standing Up for Consumers? A Semi-Annual Review of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.” 

The House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Housing, Community Development, and Insurance and the Subcommittee on National Security, International Development, and Monetary Policy (Committee on Financial Services) will hold a joint hearing: “Protecting America: The Reauthorization of the Terrorism Risk Insurance Program.” 


The Senate Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs Committee will hold a hearing: "The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau’s Semi-Annual Report to Congress." 

The House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Investor Protection, Entrepreneurship, and Capital Markets will hold a hearing: “Examining Corporate Priorities: The Impact of Stock Buybacks on Workers, Communities, and Investors.” 

The House Committee on Financial Services Subcommittee on Diversity and Inclusion will hold a hearing: “Promoting Inclusion: Examining the Need for Diversity Practices for America's Changing Workforce.” 


The House Committee on Financial Services Task Force on Artificial Intelligence will hold a hearing: “AI and the Evolution of Cloud Computing: Evaluating How Financial Data is Stored, Protected, and Maintained by Cloud Providers.”
