Chris Wolgamott, CUDE, CCUFC

Chris Wolgamott has been in the credit union world for more than 21 years and currently works for Meritrust Credit Union in Wichita, KS. As Director of Financial Counseling and Governmental Affairs, Chris’ innate passion for financial literacy, teaching and people shines through in his interactions with members and students in the community. Chris also enjoys advocating politically for credit unions both in Kansas and Washington DC, when he gets the chance.

Prior to his current role at Meritrust, Chris spent 7 years as the Community Education Coordinator, teaching financial literacy classes to schools and non-profit organizations in Wichita and surrounding communities. With Chris’ natural enthusiasm for teaching and financial literacy, he obtained his Certified Credit Union Financial Counselor designation through CUNA in 2010, while continuing educational classes for the community. In addition to volunteering in three Junior Achievement classrooms, Chris is involved in teaching financial literacy with Habitat for Humanity, Boys and Girls Club of Lawrence, Big Brothers Big Sisters and Youth Horizons.

Chris earned his Bachelors degree in Management and Marketing from Wichita State University in 2003 and obtained his Masters of Adult Education degree from Kansas State University in 2009. He was a 40 Under 40 award recipient from the Wichita Business Journal in 2011, received recognition as a Trailblazer Under 40 from the Credit Union Times in 2013 and recently received the Junior Achievement Volunteer of the Year in Wichita.

Chris and his wife, Trisha, live in Wichita with their two children, Connor and Kate, and their cat, Sunny. In his free time, Chris enjoys playing basketball, tennis, volleyball and golf. He’s also a die-hard Wichita State University basketball fan.
