Ken King

Ken currently works with businesses and nonprofit organizations providing consulting, strategic planning, and problem-solving solutions.   

Ken was the first Certified Consumer Credit Counselor in the State of Wisconsin and has been certified as a Certified Consumer Credit Counselor, Bankruptcy Counselor, Bankruptcy Educator, and HUD Housing Counselor.

In addition to serving as the executive director of Consumer Credit Counseling Service, Family Service Association of Sheboygan, and Advocacy Programs of Family Service Association of Sheboygan for 23 years, he served 19 years on the board of his local credit union and 10 years as a Trustee of the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).  He currently serves as President of the Marine Credit Union Foundation.

Ken was instrumental in developing counselor certification programs and curriculum for both the Credit Union National Association (CUNA) and the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC).  

In May of 2007, Ken was recognized by Wisconsin Governor Doyle with a Governor’s Financial Literacy Award and in 2015 was presented with the Governor’s Financial Literacy Legacy Award for his work and commitment to financial education in the State of Wisconsin, in his community and the workplace.

Married to Joan of 45 years and have four sons, five grandchildren and they have hosted 10 foreign exchange students, and 5 Group Study Exchange members.   Ken also serves on several community boards and organizations.
