House Financial Services Subcommittee Hearing on Legislative Proposals to Preserve Consumer Choice

Today CUNA CEO Jim Nussle sent a letter to leadership of the House Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit regarding their hearing on Thursday entitled, “Examining Legislative Proposals to Preserve Consumer Choice and Financial Independence.” CUNA outlined our position on six of the bills under consideration by the committee offering support for:

  • H.R. 766, the Financial Institution Customer Protection Act of 2015;
  • H.R. 1210, the Portfolio Lending and Mortgage Access Act;
  • H.R. 1266, the Financial Product Safety Commission Act of 2015;
  • H.R. 1941, the Financial Institutions Examination Fairness and Reform Act
  • H.R. 2231, related to TILA- RESPA Integrated Disclosures (TRID); and
  • H.R. 2287. The NCUA Budget Transparency Act
