PACE and Financial Literacy Bills Signed in California
Posted September 29, 2016 by CUNA Advocacy

Legislation sponsored by the California League that addresses issues with Property Assessed Clean Energy (PACE) loans was recently signed into law by Governor Jerry Brown. The new law requires a new truth-in-lending disclosure to be provided to consumers, and provides for a three-day right to cancel. The bill was a major focus this year, and the League and credit union leaders pressed lawmakers with the need for more consumer protections in PACE programs.

The Governor also signed a measure that will require California school officials to consider including financial literacy classes in six different grade levels the next time curricula are updated.
