Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB) Designation

Become a confident leader on your credit union's board

Designed to create confident, strategic credit union leaders, this designation gives credit union board members the expertise and decision-making skills expected of them and allows them to earn our premier volunteer designation, Certified Credit Union Board Member (CCUB).

As an enrollee, you're empowered by choices: You decide whether to earn your designation in person at our face-to-face school or on your own through self-study. Either way, you're connected to industry experts who provide you with insights and guidance on your role as a credit union board member.

To become a Certified Credit Union Board Member, you may choose from two methods of training:

CUNA Credit Union Board Certification School
Board members who prefer the traditional setting will opt for these week-long training sessions. It includes knowledge and discussion sessions, culminating in five (5) certification exams.

CUNA Certified Credit Union Board Member eSchool (recorded)
For board members who prefer to learn on their own, the recorded eSchool allows you to take the sessions at your own pace.

Dates and more information will be posted here as they become available. If you have questions about earning this designation, please call 800-356-9655 or email hello@cuna.coop for assistance.

If you are due to recertify your CCUB that is expiring this year, we will automatically extend your recertification deadline for one year to avoid a lapse in your certification. We will notify you as online recertification options become available.

CCUB designations must be renewed every 3 years by attending one of the following events:

  • CUNA Credit Union Board Accelerator Virtual Conference
  • CUNA Governmental Affairs Conference
  • CUNA Governance, Risk Management & Compliance Leadership Conference
  • CUNA Credit Union Board Leadership Virtual Roundtable
  • CUNA Supervisory Committee & Internal Audit Conference

Once the requirements are met, please complete the form found here to verify recertification.

Dates and more information for these events will be posted here as they become available. If you have questions about recertifying this designation, please call 800-356-9655 or email hello@cuna.coop for assistance.
